Yui had a different English VA in the series than Rei.
I remember clearly because she was absoultely awful.

I won't argue there. ^_^ But I did think he was a bit
less painful to listen to than the early ADV episodes.
More subdued anyways.

Both versions made me just wanna turn down the volume.

Ugh, yes, thanks for reminding me. That was really
odd. Wasn't the ADV closer to the original
pronounciation?

I tend to give some leeway in "supporting characters"
VAing. Let U.S. companies worry about how to dub the
MAIN characters correctly FIRST. ;) I didn't think any
of the supporting VAs were really bad enough to
detract from the movie as a whole.

Same here...I also thought Amanda Winn Lee did a great
job as Rei, though I think it goes unnoticed
considering she only ever gets about 2 lines an
episode. :( I liked Ritsuku's voice too, until she had
to actually try and show emotion in the later
episodes/movie.

I didn't hear any timing difficulties when I saw it.
And hopefully I would have noticed, considering I've
done a fair share of subtitle timing. Maybe the some
of the slightly edited dialogue was changed to fit the
aforementioned problems.

Is it just me or did he sound sorta African American?
It just sounded sorta weird coming from Hyoga, a
Japanese guy. ^_^
