Manga's open forums were during the immediate aftermath of the Wings of
Honneamise DVD fiasco. There was more than a little speculation that
Manga would screw up the video for Evangelion too. However, Keith
assured us there that they were using a digital source provided by
Gainax. IIRC, his exact words were, "They're so clear it made me want to
cry." It's nice to know this worked out :)

The Yamaga (and/or others) commentary track is the bonus that really
interests me. Hopefully they really did secure this. I emailed Keith
monthes ago about this and he said something like "Yamaga is done,
working on Anno or Tsurumaki". So I'm assuming that at least there's one
with Yamaga. My new fear is what movie the commentary is for. I
generally couldn't care less about a D&R commentary, and the specs for
the DVD state a commentary will be on that DVD :P

Aside from the translation errors (-_-) the thing that also bothers me
is the insertion of (imho) unecessary swearing.
I don't remember if this was a problem in D&R, but it popped up a lot in
EoE.

Eh.. I think this also has a lot to do with the audience. The scene has
sort of lost its edge, and has become a novelty, to some. Too bad.
When I saw EoE at Otakon '98, no one laughed, giggled, or anything like
that during that scene. I think it caught a lot of people off gaurd.

Rei sounded too... childish. I didn't like it very much.

lol - don't tell her that. "Asuka" is her favorite role ever. :P
>Ritsuko - Sue Ulu
(Side note:) Who doesn't look anything like I expected her to ^^;

It's too bad she views Ritsuko like that. I guess I always looked upon
Ritsuko in a pretty sympathetic light.
She wasn't too bitchy, for the most parts. She had her moments, but
hey... Ritsuko's just another tragic figure in a sea of tragic figures.
>Kaji - No comment
Uh, is it just me or did Kaji's VA do Kaworu in Manga's dubs as well?
@_@
I never minded Kaji's english VA, so I wasn't too put off by his
reprisal of the role - but I didn't understand why they had him do two
different, and totally unrelated, characters.
Incidentally, Winn Lee had almost total free reign on the dub of
D&R/EoE. She even wrote the script adaptation.
*cough*
