[EVA] Where is it?????

     The End of Evangelion is coming out in September? That's almost a year 
after the original October, 2001 release date! I know that Death & Rebirth 
has been pushed back to the end of June according to Manga's website, so its 
no big surprise. I wonder what the hold up is? I hope its not the DVD again. 
The extras aren't even impressive enough to warrant me buying it for my DVD 
player instead of my VCR. According to what I've heard, most of the bonus 
material gears to dub watchers and I prefer Eva subbed. So as is, the only 
reason I'd buy it is if the VHS is pan and scan, a condition blissfully 
absent from most anime movies, or dub only. I'd rather they just can the 
extras and devote the disc entirely to the movie instead of overly 
compressing it for no reason just like every other anime DVD is. I still 
don't know why a genre which by nature has tons of redundant imagery is 
encoded with so much compression.

      Here's something interesting, a week ago I walked into a Suncoast and 
they had listed ADV's Evangelion Perfect Collection on their coming soon 
board. The strange thing is that it was listed as VHS. I've seen no mention 
of a VHS version anywhere else so I wonder if they just screwed up, like 
when they thought Anastasia was a Disney movie, or if ADV's found a way to 
fit thirteen tapes into one collection. Not that it matters, I didn't re-buy 
the show when they released the DVDs and I certainly not re-buying it for a 
lousy box no matter how cool it looks.
