You say that as if that invalidates his argument. The EVA ending 
is very ambiguous. It *all* boils down to interpretations and opinions.
I don't think there's enough proof to say absolutely one way or 
another -- that's the reason why all the debate exists. This is the 
difference between arguing "Did Germany win WWII?" and "Could Germany 
have won WWII?" One can be looked up, the other can only be debated 
endlessly on message boards with both sides making very valid points 
using the records available. :) The whole dichotomy between what 
is said towards the end of the movie and the visuals we get is where 
the biggest argument about positive/negative third impact lies. Did 
Shinji destroy the human race or will bodies start forming out of 
the goop and people get to try again?
