That was my guess but I wasn't going to lead off my
question with it. :) I like surreal animes. I know Excel is
not popular with some people because it's too random. It's
sort of like British humor, some people just won't find it
funny.

Do they do Oscars for foreign animation? I think they only
have a generic "best foreign flick" category. I'd wager
it's the prejudice against animation working here, concerns
about Disney being secondary. I'd imagine film snobs would
go ballistic if an art house movie got beaten by "some
childrens' animation."
