[EVA] Misato's fate - EoE spoilers

We all know what happened to Misato in EoE. Had what happened to her,
not happened, do you think she would have made it back to NERV command?

If the lift could only have carried Shinji, and she waited, I guess not.
If the lift had taken them both, maybe she would have had her talk with
him beside Eva 01. Had she survived, it is possible she might have
either gone back to command to help Asuka (most likely), or gone after
Gendou, Rei & Ritsuko.

Personally, I would have liked to see her do the former, & consequently
be LCLd by Kaji's "reincarnation" through Rei/Lilith.

But then her martyrdom would be less....
