It was gratifying to come back from a short trip and see the farewell
posts from the various old-timers and a few newer members as well. All
things must ultimately come to an end, and I think it is fitting that
the list end quietly and with dignity like this. I am sad to see the
forum disappear, but it has been fun and I have made some good friends
in the process. I liked the graduating class analogy, except that I
think reunions will be difficult. Still, the net is a small world, and
I am sure many of us will cross paths again in the future.
While I intend to continue the Sadamoto manga translations to the very
end, I must admit that there are still some Eva materials remaining to
be translated and released, but my heart is just not in it enough to
justify the time and effort anymore. To be honest, for me Eva ended
quite some time ago, and the somewhat disappointing (IMO) movie release
even provided a sense of "closure". (Yes, Amanda Winn-Lee was good for
something after all.)
In parting I just want to say that if we have shared information,
debated, argued/fought, and even called each other names, you are
welcome on my doorstep. (I might not let you in the house, but you can
at least sit on the doorstep. :P)
Thank you all,
Bochan_bird
