Well, no, you aren't. Weta did an impressive work with the (for now) two LOTR movies, and their other productions were of the same quality. With Weta producing S/FX the visual part of the film will be surely great, but nowadays there are too much movies based of on stunning S/FXs; also, I consider todays' american film industry not capable of delivering really strong emotions to the audience, as it tends to lighten up everything with simplicistic plots. That's something very bad for Eva, the best thing about the anime are the strong emotions that it can give. IMO there is no living american/western director that can make a possible live Eva movie as the series is. And I think Anno's not going to pick up Eva again. The king's dead, long live the king but let it rest in peace, I think we don't need an other Alite spin-off (speaking about Dark Angel).

I hope it won't ever come out, videogames and cartoons turned to movies tend to be first-quality trash.
