ADV : yeah, they're American. But they're co-producing, same as they
did with things like BGC2040 and Princess Blade. Not dominating.
WETA : _NOT_ American. New Zealand, and not going to be the
dominating force - they're the effects house.
Gainax : _NOT_ American. I've heard tell that they might know
something about the internals of the "Evangelion" thing, maybe.
I'm getting really, _REALLY_ tired of everyone assuming that this is
meant to be a big Hollywood blockbuster. I'd be willing to bet that
it's going to get massive release and heavy promotion in Japan, where
releasing brand new Eva material is more-or-less guaranteed to do
fairly well. Meanwhile, it'll get a release pattern in America
similar to Spirited Away, Spriggan, Cowboy Bebop and Escaflowne -
probably staggered release, some megaplexes but not on the main
screens there, mostly art-house theaters.

Like I said, I'm willing to give Gainax the benefit of the doubt in
their interpretation of Eva. (Heck, maybe they'll give Sadamoto the
opportunity to do screenplay/direct. I do agree that Anno isn't gonna
come back to it - I suspect his reply would be "I've _DONE_ that job
already. Twice, even.")
